Completing your profile on the Electronic Commissioning Portal

When you select the "My Profile" option in the top navigation bar, the profile menu will become visible. This menu provides all the necessary navigation to complete your profile on the Electronic Commissioning Portal.

My Profile

This section is dedicated to information about your production company. You'll provide details about the type of business you operate and any previous engagements with the SABC.

BBBEE Information

Here, you can upload and specify your BBBEE status and details about your workforce. This is crucial for compliance and transparency.

Work References

You have the opportunity to specify references for previous projects and engagements. This helps in building a credible profile based on past experiences.

Ownership / Directors

In this section, you'll need to provide information about your company's leadership. This includes details about the owners, directors, their shares, and TV licenses.

Document Library

Upload all relevant business documentation in this library. Keeping this content up to date is essential, and once uploaded, these documents will no longer need to accompany each of your proposals.

Declaration of Interests

Accept the declaration of your interests. Once all the above sections are completed successfully, the "Submit a Proposal" button will become available.

Submiting a proposal

Once you have completed all the necessary sections of your profile, you'll notice a compliance bar at the top of the screen. This bar is an indicator of your profile's completeness and compliance status.

When the compliance bar turns green, it signifies that all required information and documents have been successfully provided and are in good order. This is an important step, as it ensures that your profile meets all the necessary standards and requirements set by the Electronic Commissioning Portal.

At this stage, the "Submit a Proposal" button will become visible. This button allows you to proceed with submitting your project proposals for consideration.

Types of submission

Once your compliance bar is green and you are ready to submit a proposal, you will need to choose the appropriate submission type. This step is crucial as each type of submission follows a slightly different review route. Selecting the correct option ensures that your proposal is processed efficiently and reviewed by the appropriate team.

You have four types of submissions to choose from:
1. Unsolicited Submissions: These are proposals that you submit on your own initiative, without a specific request or brief from the SABC. This type of submission allows you to present your unique ideas and projects that you believe will be of interest.

2. Open Brief Submissions: These submissions respond to open briefs published by the SABC. Open briefs are calls for content in specific genres or formats. Ensure your proposal aligns with the requirements and themes outlined in the brief.

3. Request for Content (RFC): This option is for proposals submitted in response to a formal request for content from the SABC. RFCs are specific calls for proposals with detailed guidelines and criteria. Carefully review the RFC details to ensure your proposal meets all the specified requirements.

4. Hybrid Content Submissions: Hybrid content submissions are proposals that combine elements of both unsolicited and requested content. This could include innovative projects that address specific needs or gaps identified by the SABC while also bringing your unique creative vision to the table.

Important Note: Each submission type has a distinct review process, so it is essential to select the relevant option based on the nature of your proposal. Carefully consider the guidelines and criteria for each type to ensure your submission is directed to the appropriate review channel. By choosing the correct submission type, you can streamline the review process and improve the chances of your proposal being successfully evaluated.
